Travel and Tourism - Level 3 BTEC Diploma (leading to Extended Diploma)

Duration : 1 yearThis is a practical work-related qualification that leads to careers within the travel and tourism industry or onto university. They have been developed to provide the knowledge and understanding and the skills necessary to prepare learners for employment and/or to provide career development opportunities.
This course consists of 12 mandatory and specialist units, which enable students to study particular areas in depth. Students learn by completing projects and assignments.
Units include :
Investigating the travel and tourism sector
The UK as a destination
Working as a holiday rep
Events, conferences and exhibitions
Overseas visit (please note additional charges will apply)
Additional trips and kit fees will be discussed at interview.
Entry Requirements:
5 GCSE's at Grade C or above (including English and preferably Maths)BTEC Level 2 Diploma at merit or distinction plus GCSE English and Maths at Grades C or above, or Level 2 Functional Maths and English
All applicants will be subject to a succesful interview.
Career Options:
On completion of the BTEC Diploma you will have achieved the equivalent of 2 A Levels. You will be able to return the following academic year to complete a further 6 units equal to 1 A Level.
