Duration : 1 year ** NEW COURSE 2012**This course is a combination of practical outdoor delivery sessions which will improve your personal skills and knowledge and theory-based learning in the classroom and sports hall.
Functional skills in English and Maths are a key part of this course.
Please note that you will be required to purchase equipment and clothing from an external supplier for this course.
Units to be covered :-
Fitness testing and training
Outdoor and adventurous activities
Leading outdoor adventurous activities
Expedition experience
Anatomy and physiology
Planning and leading sports activities
Nutrition for sports performance
Psychology for sports performance
Additional costs for trips and kit will be discussed at interview.
Entry Requirements:
You need a minimum of four GCSEs at Grade D or above including English, and preferably Maths or successful completion of a Level 1 course at Merit or Distinction.Candidates will be interviewed.
Career Options:
After you have successfully completed this course you can progress onto a Level 3 for which Merit/Distinction grades are required.
