Duration : 1 yearThis course gives you the skills to provide body and sports massage and to give advice on injury treatment and prevention.

- Customer service in the Sport and Active Leisure industry
- Injuries in Sport
- Understanding Employment Rights and Responsibilities
- Understanding the Active Leisure and Learning Sector
- Emergency First Aid Skills
- Management of Illness and Injury in Activities
- Functional anatomy, physiology and nutrition for sports therapies
- Applying sports massage methods to non-pathological tissue
- Applying taping and strapping to support and limit specific movement in sport and active leisure
- Applying hot and cold techniques in sport and active leisure
Assessment is continuous with written work, practical sessions, case studies on members of the public and multiple choice tests.
Please note that you will be required tro purchase equipment and clothing from an external supplier for this course.
Entry Requirements:
You need to be at least 18 to apply, with good communication skills and a reasonable standard of English Language. IT skills and a science background are preferred. All applicants are interviewed.Career Options:
