Duration : 1 year

This course allows you to study a range of units relating to the sport and leisure industry, including some coaching units:

- Participating in sport
- Working safely in sport and active leisure
- Leading a healthy lifestyle
- Improving personal fitness and exercise
- Safeguarding and protecting children in sport and active leisure
- Understanding the principles of planning and conducting coaching activity
- Fundamentals of coaching
- Evaluating coaching

Functional skills in English and maths are a key part of this course.

Please note that you will be required to purchase equipment and clothing from an external supplier for this course.

Entry Requirements:

You need four GCSEs (grade E - G or above) and a strong interest in sport and exercise.

Career Options:

After you have successfully completed the course (Merit/Distinction grades needed), you can progress onto a Level 2 course. Alternatively, you may progress into employment or onto an Apprenticeship in the Sport and Leisure industry.
