Abbeygail
BTEC Level 3 in Public Services
With a father and a grand-father in the public services, the BTEC Level 3 in Public Services was a logical choice for Abbeygail. She is really enjoying her two-year course which is equivalent to A-Levels, much preferring the unit-based structure and continuous assessment to the pressure of end-of-year exams. “Life at College is different. You mix with lots of different people, teachers are approachable and supportive, resources are good and you are treated like an adult. I’ve learned so much and got so many certificates: fire-fighting, canoeing, etc. Next year we will do first aid as well. We’ve been on so many different trips. I really enjoyed the team-building trips such as tree-jumping or raft-building.” In her second year of BTEC, Abbeygail plans to send an application to the RAF as she has set her mind on becoming an air traffic control officer.
