Entry Requirements:

Each learner will have a mandatory interview and assessment of needs and aspirations from which an individualised learning programme (ILP) will be agreed. The ILP will incorporate long and short step goals enabling each learner to achieve their own potential.

Career Options:

Examples of learner progression include supported employment,supported living, voluntary work, community services or further courses.
K College offers a personalised learning programme for all learners from the age of 16 who have learning difficulties and/or disabilities and who would benefit from an individualised approach in a safe and supported environment.
The course units focus on developing skills to become more independent and to progress towards employability.


Course units are available at Entry Level and Level 1. At both levels, there are three different sizes of qualification: Award, Certificate or Diploma, all including life skills, personal development, independent living skills, literacy, numeracy and I.C.T.
Vocational options will include conservation, motor vehicle, horticulture, catering, arts and crafts, running enterprises and retail.
For those learners working towards employment, work experience is provided to help prepare them for the workplace. This is supported through a dedicated work experience co-ordinator.
K College is also part of the Equal Opportunity Supported Employment Programme which works in partnership with the Kent Supported Employment programme and the Royal British Legion Industries.
