Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Performing Arts

Duration : 2 years

This course is for people who are keen to explore and develop skills in performing arts and can lead to careers in acting, directing, stage management, theatre design, teaching, community arts industries or work as a theatre technician.
Practical projects form the majority of the course and are based around units such as:
- Acting
- Directing
- Dance
- Drama improvisation
- Performing arts business
- Choregraphy
Functional skills of English, maths and I.C.T. are a key part of this course.
You will be assessed by coursework based on a mix of practical
performance-based projects and theory-based work and an end-of-year performance.

Entry Requirements:

You need five GCSEs at grade C or above, including an art-based subject and English Language, or a BTEC Level 2 in a relevant subject at Merit or Distinction plus Level 2 qualifications in English and maths and a successful audition.
Other qualifications will be considered.

Career Options:

After you have successfully completed this course you can progress onto a Degree or HND course in performing arts-related areas, or courses at RADA, LAMDA and Central School of Speech and Drama.
