Performing Arts - Foundation Degree (Canterbury Christ Church University)
Course Code: 4273
Duration : 2 yearsThis programme will combine practical training and academic theory of performing arts. You will gain first hand experience of applying performance skills in a number of settings through work-based learning projects. Previous group projects have included performance and education projects in schools and setting up touring companies.
Students have also taken on a range of placements working with professional companies.
You will follow a core performing arts course including work-based learning, arts business and professional development and contextual studies, and then choose from one of two specialist pathways: Acting or Dance.
Acting modules may include:
Acting Methods and Styles
Voice and Speech
Devising
Movement for Actors
Dance modules may include:
Contemporary Dance and Repertory
Choreography (Conventional and Innovative)
Classical Ballet
Assessment is continuous and will be a mixture of practical and written assignments with tests in some areas.

Entry Requirements:
You need a relevant Level 3 (A-Levels, BTEC or other) to apply. Mature learners are welcome with relevant experience. Applicants will be interviewed and auditioned.Due to some parts of the course involving work with young people, you will be required to undergo a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check.
Career Options:
After successful achievement you can progress onto the third year of the BA (Hons) in Performance or to dance or drama schools; you can also enter employment within the creative industries such as small-scale touring, theatre and education and arts administration.Course Starting: Monday 24 Sep 2012 - Part Time - Tonbridge
