BTEC Level 1 Foundation Diploma (Music Performance)

Duration : 1 yearThis course will enable you to train in well-equipped rehearsal studios and digital composition suites.
You will work with supportive and enthusiastic staff, who are all active professional musicians. They will work closely with you to ensure you have the opportunities to develop the right skills to progress onto the Level 2 Diploma.
Through focused project briefs you will develop a vocational understanding as well as the creative and technical skills to ensure that the music that you create will be relevant for a contemporary commercial world.
The course will include visits to professional perfromances and studios to see how the commercial world of music works.
Entry Requirements:
You will need GCSEs at grades E and F or an Entry Certificate in Skills for Working Life or an equivalent qualification, as well as an appropriate standard of literacy and numeracy. You will be auditioned.This course is principally for 16-19 year olds.

The Creative Foundation Learning courses are designed to give you the right start to develop your skills and aim at progression onto Level 2 courses.The interests and skills you develop on the creative courses ensure if you successfully complete the course you will be able to apply to another creative subject such as the Level 2 Diplomas in: performing arts, music performance, music technology and creative media production.
There are many career pathways in the creative industries which are both technical and creative which you will be able to aim towards. This course is an ideal starting point to begin your journey towards a successful career.
