Duration : 2 yearsThere are many opportunities for well-qualified, experienced personnel to enter the motorsport or vehicle repair and maintenance sector. The BTEC Level 3 enables progression through the
Award, then Certificate to the Diploma, and can provide a springboard to a university degree in an appropriate vocational discipline, or into employment.
Our team of specialist staff with strong industry links will support you and you will have the use of excellent workshop facilities and insudtrystandard equipment, enabling you to learn in a
realistic workplace environment.
This course comprises six core and twelve specialist units, including motorsport specific units. There will also be the opportunity to complete project work on our own race car both in the workshop and as support at race events.
This broad programme prepares you for work either in motorsport or the retail motor industry and includes units in:
- Fault diagnosis and repair
- Vehicle science and mathematics
- Engine technology
- Electronic systems
Functional skills of English, maths and ICT are a key part of this course.
Entry Requirements:
You need five GCSEs at grade C or above, including English, maths and science, or a related Level 2 at Merit or Distinction. You should also be able to demonstrate the ability to progress to higher education.Career Options:
