Duration : 1 year

This course comprises three core and six specialist units, covering knowledge, understanding and skills required to work in the sector. The qualification has a flexible design to provide
progression opportunities into a technician role within industry or on to further education through the BTEC Extended Diploma.
Whilst the course is centred on the motorsport industry. (including race car project work supporting our own race team), knowledge is directly transferable to the retail motor industry.
Functional skills of English and maths are a key part of this course.
Assessment is via written assignments and evidence-based practical assessment.

Entry Requirements:

You need at least four GCSEs including maths, English and Science at grade D or above, or a BTEC Introductory Diploma in a relevant subject at Merit or Distinction plus GCSEs in maths, English and science at grade D or above.
Successful completion of a relevant Level 1 qualification including functional skills of English, maths and ICT plus personal social development and other equivalent qualifications will also be considered.
All applicants should show an interest in the subject and the potential to succees and will be assessed at interview.

Career Options:

Successful learners may have the opportunity to progress onto the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Vehicle Technology (Motorsports) or the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering.
