Duration : 1 yearThis course is designed for learners planning a career within the retail automotive industry as either a technician or associated motor industry employment. The programme includes:
- Health & safety in the workshop, carrying out routine vehicle maintenance
- Removing and replacing units and components relating to engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, brakes and electrical and electronic systems
This programme can be tailored to the light vehicle, motorcycle or vehicle body repair and refinishing routes.
Functional skills of English, maths and ICT are a key part of this course. You will be assessed by practical and written tasks and online tests.
Entry Requirements:
You need to have successfully completed a relevant Level 1 qualification including functional skills in English, maths and ICT plus personal social development. Alternatively, four GCSEs including maths, English and science at grade D or above.Career Options:
