Computer Aided Design (CAD) 2 Dimensional - Certificate Level 2

Duration : 24 weeksThis course can lead to career enhancement where knowledge and ability in 2D CAD are required, as a junior CAD trainee.
This proramme is designed for those with little or no previous experience of Computer Aided Design and who wish to gain basic understanding and ability. Some experience in the use of a computer and applications software would be advantagous. This course offers a basic working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D software. (Each individual will have the sole use of a workstation, comprising up to date computer hardware and AutoCAD Software R2011)
You will be assessed through practical assignments and multiple-choice paper.
This course consists of:
- Use associated IT and CAD hardware and operating system
- File management
- Key components of the software
- Viewing commands and set up
- Drawing commands
- Use the CAD software's co-ordinate system to aid accurate drawing
- Use hatch, text and simple dimensionin routines
- Editing commands and produce simple hard copies
The college is currently using the 2011 platform
Entry Requirements:
Some experience in computer use/application software is required.Career Options:
