The key purpose of this course is to introduce novices to a computer and enable them to be proficient in the use of word software , skilled in the safe usage of the internet and be capable of sending and receiving emails.

- Apply Character Formatting
- Modify the Layout of a Paragraph
- Apply Styles
- Apply Borders and Shading
- Controlling the Appearance of Pages in a Word Document
- Apply a Page Border and Colour
- Add Headers and Footers
- Checking and printing a Word Document
- Check Spelling and Grammar
- Print a Document
- Access the internet and compare different types of site
- Identify the pros and cons of Search Engines
- Compare differences in various Browsers
- Appreciate the dangers encountered in Internet usage
- Understand the risks involved when using the Internet
- Learn about Anti-virus sites and Firewalls
- Set up an email site
- Send and receive an email
- Understand Skype and its possibilities
- Review previous weeks and assess knowledge gained
