On completion of the training, successful candidates will have increased their knowledge and understand the importance of food safety, including hygiene in the preparation and handling of food.
Learning Outcomes
- Basic principles of food hygiene and complying with food safety legislation
- Symptoms and causes of food poisoning and methods of prevention
- Bacteria and their potential to cause disease
- Hygiene and cleanliness in food premises including personal hygiene, temperature control, storage of food, cleaning and disinfecting equipment and pest control
- Basic requirements of the Food Safety Act 1990 and the Food Safety (General Food Hygiene) Regulations 1995
