First Aid at Work Certificate Requalification (HSE)

Duration : 2 daysThis course aims to enable candidates to understand the role of the first-aider in the workplace. It will offer the opportunity to gain the skills and knowledge required for dealing with a range of injuries, and demonstrating how to deal with a range of major and minor illnesses.
This course is designed for those who hold a First Aid at Work certificate that is due for renewal. It is also suitable for those who hold a current certificate but wish to update their first aid skills within the workplace and the legal framework.
Course Content:
The course includes an update of first aid knowledge and skills and a revision of workplace requirement, including:
- Acting safely, promptly and effectively with emergencies at work
- Using first aid equipment
- Understanding the duties of employers and the legal framework
- Maintaining simple records
- Recognising the importance of personal hygieneDealing with a casualty who is unconscious, bleeding, suffering from shock or injury to bones, muscles or joints
- Burns or scalds
- Eye injuries
- Gas and fumes
- Poisons and harmful substances
- Recognising major/minor illnesses and managing the transport of a casualty
Entry Requirements:
Delegates must be in possession of an in-date HSE First Aid at Work Certificate on the first day of the course.Career Options:
