Health and Social Care Level 2 NVQ Diploma

Duration : 1 yearCity & Guilds NVQs in Health and Social Care have been developed in line with the National Occupational Standards for Health and Social Care developed by Skills for Care and Development and Skills for Health. They represent the changes that have occurred in social care practice and form the basis of regulation of the workforce.
The NVQ at Level 2 is the required qualification for 50% of the workforce in regulated care services. It is considered to be the minimum qualification required by a care worker. The NVQ will be appropriate for those working in private care homes and homes run within the public health system.
Course Content:
The course will provide the opportunities to:
- Gain evidence of the knowledge and principles of practice required for the achievement of NVQ Care level 2
- Provide guidance in the preparation for assessment and the submission of a portfolio of evidence of knowledge and practice
- Rights
- Responsibilities
- Communication
- Abuse
- Personal hygiene
- Eating and drinking
- Moving and handling
- Health and safety
- Physical changes
- Assisting with toileting needs
Entry Requirements:
As all assessment will take place in the workplace, students must be working in a social or health care setting. Acceptance onto the course is subject to a successful interview.Career Options:
