Health and Social Care - BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma

Duration : 2 yearsThis course will enable you to gain a broad understanding of the skills and qualities to become a care professional in roles such as: Nursing; midwifery; physiotherapy; occupational therapy; paramedic training; health and social care work.
You will study 18 units covering:
- Equality, diversity and rights
- Human anatomy
- Physiology and science
- Professional development
- Communication and supportive skills
- Diet and nutrition
- First aid
- Work placement. Functional skills in English and maths are a key part of this course.
Assessment is by assignments and regular reports from work placement.
Entry Requirements:
You need five GCSEs (grade A-C) including preferably English and Double Science.N.B. The depth of the BTEC Level 3 will be discussed at interview.
All students will be required to undergo a CRB check once enrolled on their course and the outcome may affect work placements.
Career Options:
After you have successfully completed this course you can progress onto higher education courses in areas such as nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy and social work.150 Hours Work Placement
