Duration : 1 year

This course will introduce students to hairdressing and beauty industry through learning of techniques and products and will help them develop their basic skills and relevant background knowledge. Modules will include:
- Presenting a professional image
- Shampooing, conditioning and drying hair
- Contributing to perming and colouring processes
- Reception duties
- Health and safety
- Skin care and make-up
- Developing effective working relationships
Functional skills of English, maths and ICT are a key part of the course.
You will be assessed by practical and written assessments, coursework and oral questions.

Please note that you will be required to purchase equipment and clothing from an external supplier for this course.

Entry Requirements:

Applicants need four GCSEs (grade D-G) or the Foundation Learning Introductory Certificate, or a Level 1 NVQ in Hairdressing to apply .

Career Options:

After successful achievement you can progress onto a Level 2 Hairdressing or Beauty Therapy.
