Duration : 2hrs x 10 weeksThe Business English course offers you the opportunity to develop your English to succeed in business and commerce.
The course is for people who can already use everyday written and spoken English at an intermediate level. You should also have an interest in work, business and commerce.
Your Business English course will be structured according to your specific needs and may cover the following skills:

Language for expressing opinions and presenting arguments
Language needed to deal with telephone and conference calls

Making effective presentations

Teaching will utilise interactive methods and the latest technology in teaching and learning. You will also need to purchase a course book for the course. A variety of resources may also be used to supplement the classes.
Your teacher will assess you throughout the course in a variety of ways:
Individual work, for example through written work and presentations
Pair work
Small group work
This course is ideal if you would like to work or are already working in an environment where English is used. It will also develop your confidence and skills to communicate successfully in international business and commerce.

You will obtain a college certificate detailing the skills you have learned during your course. You also have the opportunity to enrol onto additional ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), FCE or CAE courses and sit the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations. Entry Requirements:
It is not necessary to have passed any examinations in English, but your English should be at intermediate level or above. This is equivalent to:completion of Entry 3 ESOL on the NQF (National Qualifications Framework)
B1 on the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment).

New applicants are required to sit a 40 minute entry test prior to application. Upon enrolment, you will be required to fill in a questionnaire to find out your specific learning needs and objectives.
