ELFAS (English Language for Asylum Seekers)

Duration : 1 year

The ELFAS course is offered to 16-18 year old Asylum Seekers to enable progression in English Language, Maths and ICT skills. Also included, throughout the course, are Life Skills for integration into the community and preparation for future vocational courses.
You will be able to gain nationally recognised qualifications according to your ability, progress and level.

Attendance at all timetabled sessions will be required for this full-time course.
Details regarding expected course timetable and attendance will be given prior to the start of the course when available.

Assessment is continuous throughout the course and includes portfolio work and accredited external examinations.

Entry Requirements:

An interview and assessments with the Course Leader. No formal qualifications required. Evidence of Immigration Status will need to be provided before enrolment.

Career Options:

Students successfully completing the course will progress on to further levels of ESOL, ICT and Maths. Students could be considered for vocational courses dependant on level of skills acquired and commitment of students to further study.
