Duration : 2 yearsThis qualification will equip you with the skills and knowledge required of an engineering technician giving the chance to progress onto a relevant Level 4 qualification.
It includes 6 core units:
- Mathematics for engineering technicians
- Health and safety in the engineering workplace
- Communications for engineering technicians
- Mechanical principles and applications
- Electrical and electronic principles
- Project
Further mechanical/electrical principles
Principles and applications of electronic devices and circuits and analogue electronics
Engineering drawings for technicians
Electronic and mechanical measurement
Construction and applications of digital systems
Commercial aspects of engineering organisations
All subjects will have specific assignments to complete to provide evidence of understanding.
Some of these will be time-constrained and take place under open book examination conditions.
All units must be successfully completed.
Entry Requirements:
You need four GCSEs (grade A*-C) or a relevant Level 2 qualification to apply.Mature students with employment in an appropriate industry will also be considered.
Career Options:
