This course is suitable for learners who wish to acquire the engineering skills and knowledge to prepare them for a career in the marine leisure or light commercial vessels industry and to
allow them to progress onto higher level marine engineering qualifications.
You will complete a number of units including:
Developing self and working safely in a marine engineering environment
Marine technology
Servicing and maintenance of marine engines and power units
Marine propulsion systems
Functional skills in English, maths and ICT are a key part of this course.

Entry Requirements:

You need four GCSEs at grades D or above, including two from maths, science and English or a satisfactory pass in a marine technology qualification. Adult learners may gain entry onto the course by demonstrating appropriate industry experience.

Career Options:

After you have successfully completed this course you can progress onto the Level 3 Certificate or enter into employment in the marine industries.
