Duration : 2 yearsThe course aims to provide you with a professional development qualification and/or a part-time route to the third year of a degree programme for those with experience in supporting learning and teaching.
Please note that to be eligible for a student loan you will need to register as full-time and be working part-time. Prospective applicants are advised to check their individual circumstances with the student loan company before applying for a place.
You may be working with learners of any age (including adults) as teaching assistants or learning support assistants. The programme is a balance of both theory and practical application.

Assessment is continuous, based on workrelated assignments; there are no exams or timed assessments. With the exception of one unit, Active Education, all of the assessed assignments are directly related to pedagogy and therefore the programme has a high relevance to professional practice.
Entry Requirements:
You should hold a relevant Level 3 qualification.You should have appropriate work experience as a Teaching Assistant or a Learning Support Assistant.
You should be working with learners for a minimum of one day per week in either a paid or a voluntary capacity.
Career Options:
Upon successful completion of the Foundation Degree you can gain entry onto a third year of a compatible degree programme, such as the BA (Hons) in Education Studies or the BA (Hons) in Childhood Studies at the University of Greenwich. Gaining a degree will enable you to access the many options that exist to become teacher qualified, including PGCE, QTS, RTP, GTP in either the primary or secondary sectors.Course Starting: Monday 24 Sep 2012 - Part Time - Tonbridge
