EARLY YEARS

If you’re interested in teaching or working with children, our range of courses will give you hands-on work experience, and our professionally qualified staff will help you get the most out of the theory, making you work-ready for your future career.

There has never been a more exciting time to enter the field of Early Years. Government funding and recognition has led to the development of the best possible training and qualifications and it has been designated a priority area.

At K College we recognise this need for excellence and are proud of our reputation with local employers and the strong working relationship we have with a wide range of child care settings across Kent and Sussex. All our teaching staff have professional qualifications in Early Years and a wealth of experience working with children. You will also gain experience through work placements, which are an integral part of the course, giving you the opportunity to work alongside professionals in nurseries, schools and in the community. Our level 3 courses lead into Higher Education, enabling you to apply to a range of universities for entry onto courses such as primary teaching, nursing and midwifery. K College also offers the Foundation Degree in Early Years should you wish to continue your studies here. Alternatively, once you complete at level 2 and level 3, you can move straight into employment in a variety of settings, for example as a nursery assistant, classroom assistant or nanny in the UK or abroad.

Millie

Level 3 Early Years

Millie knew she wanted to leave school and work with children so enrolled at K College. She says: “I didn’t feel school could offer what I needed and I wanted to be in a more adult environment.”
Millie is loving her course: “The best part has been working with children on a placement. It was harder than I imagined but I really enjoyed the challenge.”
Millie’s course isn’t just about the studies though: “I’ve made some friends for life on this course and the teachers are nice too!”
