BTEC Level 2 in Hospitality

Duration : 1 yearThis course progresses through the Certificate to the Diploma and is designed to provide you with specialist work-related skills leading to
employment within the catering and hospitality sector, e.g. restaurants, hotels and bars. The course covers areas such as:
- Exploring the catering and hospitality industry
- Customer relations in hospitality
- Safety in hospitality
- Planning and running an event
- Basic culinary skills
- Serving food and drinks
- Front office skills
- Developing employability skills
Functional skills of English, maths and ICT are a key part of this course.
Assessment is a mixture of practical and assignment-based work you will be expected to undertake work experience as part of the course.
Please note that you will be required to purchase equipment and clothing from an external supplier for this course.
Entry Requirements:
You should either hold a relevant Level 1 qualification or you should have four GCSEs (grade D or above) including English. Alternatively,relevant industrial experience and an aptitude for hospitality and catering will be considered.
Career Options:
Upon successful completion, you can progress onto a BTEC Extended Diploma in Hospitality, a Level 3 VRQ/NVQ or an Advanced Apprenticeship in a related subject.Course Starting: Monday 10 Sep 2012 - Full Time - Tonbridge
