VTCT L2 Certificate in Nail Technology - Manicure unit

The manicure course will cover the basic and the luxury versions of the treatment. You will learn how to care for the nails and hands whilst pampering your client, advanced techniques will be applied to enable you to provide a relaxing massage, hot oil treatment or a calming paraffin wax treatment. Enamelling techniques will be demonstrated to assist you in the application of both French polish or colour to your clients nails.

Your work will be assessed through visual assessments that will be timed, written assignments, by a portfolio of evidence that you will build and multiple-choice exams. You may also need to bring in clients for your assessments and practice.

Students will need to wear a uniform either colleges or their own (if they are already working in industry and have a clean work uniform) and have a kit to be able to take part in practical sessions). Flat/low healed black enclosed footwear is also needed (can be purchased with uniform kit). Long hair will also need to be tied back and a professional appearance in general is expected.

Entry Requirements:


The candidate will need 4 GCSEs or above, no prior experience essential although welcomed!

Designed as a bolt on to the VTCT L2 Certificate in Nail Technology, the exam is undertaken through that course.
Delegates attending just this unit will receive Kcollege certificate.
