Duration : 1 yearThis course is an introduction to beauty created to help you gain an appreciation of the industry. It has been especially designed to develop your practical skills through introducing you to the beauty industries and how you should present a professional image.
Completion of this course will enable you to progress onto a Level 2 course. You will gain an insight into salon duties and health and safety issues, as well as learning how to help with facial
and nail treatments.
Make-up and the art of photgraphic make-up
Reception skills
Underpinning theory knowledge
Anatomy and physiology
Functional skills in English, Maths and ICT are a key part of this course.
You will also complete a Level 1 award in PSD.
Assessment will be based on theory and practical work.
Please note that you will be required to purchase equipment and clothing from an external supplier for this course.
Entry Requirements:
You need four GCSEs (grade D-G) good communication skills and good personal presentation. All applicants will be interviewed. Enrolment will be subject to a successful interview and references.Career Options:
