The top-up programme allows you to develop and refine your chosen specialist discipline. Teaching takes place in a studio setting with an emphasis on making and exploring fine art. There are 12 hours per week contact time including one-to-one teaching and group critique and discussions. You will be given the opportunity to study the critical and contextual dimensions of fine art practice in the form of weekly art lectures, seminars and workshops.
Alongside your taught studio practice you will receive academic support focused on the undertaking of a dissertation. You will also be encouraged to develop a wide range of skills in preparation for professional practice and employment.
There is no final examination on this course. There are four modules to complete on this course and you are given assignments to guide you
Assessment is continuous for all practical, theoretical, professional and exhibition units.
We very much value discussion of work as an essential learning tool, thus learners are expected to take part and use the forum of the group critique to explore, develop and refine their work.

Entry Requirements:
You are expected to have completed an HND or Foundation Degree in Fine Art or a closely-related discipline, with at least six grades at Merit or above. All applicants are interviewed and will need to provide a portfolio of work.Career Options:
