Problem Solving

Attention: open in a new window. PDF

Course Code: 3956

We constantly deal with predicaments, both at home and at work, and resolve them by making a choice, judgment or coming to a conclusion. Often the problems are straightforward and within our experience, hence we can successfully apply previously tried and tested solutions. However some problems are of greater complexity, hence resolution may not be so easy, nor quick solutions advisable.

Objectives of the Course
This course will enable delegates to reflect on problems they encounter and how successfully they resolve them. It will introduce them to a step by step plan for solving problems, including ideas to generate possible solutions as well as decision making techniques.

By the end of the course delegates will be able to:

- Reflect on existing problem solving processes at work
- Define the terms problem and decision
