This NVQ course is entirely work-related and is based on a broad range of competencies from the administration sector. The qualification iscompetence-based with skills, knowledge and competences being assessed in a practical way. To achieve full certification of the NVQ, 5 units must
be completed and assessed as competent. Portfolios are internally and externally verified to ensure that standards have been met.

Unit 2: Performing the role of Administrator
The NVQ will be delivered entirely in the workplace with an Assessor visiting at mutually convenient times to carry out an induction, explain evidence
requirements and observe and assess. Candidates may also be required to carry out some research and will need to complete referencing of
portfolio in their own time.

Applicants should be employed in a junior position in an appropriate workplace setting, and should be carrying out a range of duties, such as datainputting, filing, photocopying, reception work and mail handling.
