The NVQ is entirely work-related and is based on a broad range of competencies from the administration sector. The qualification is competence-based with skills, knowledge and competences being assessed in a practical way. To achieve full certification of the NVQ, 6 units must be completed and assessed as competent. Portfolios are internally and externally verified to ensure that standards have been met.
