Duration : 1 year

The Citizenship A-Level can be studied as part of the following pathways:
- Business
- Humanities

- Social Science
- Express

If you enjoy 'having your say' and discussing topics such as the ban on smoking in public places, or whether the legal voting age should be lowered to 16 years, this may be the course for you.

Citizenship covers the issues of what it means to be British: the legal system and police powers in the UK; politics and government; human rights; environmental issues; and explores the big question - 'how do I make a difference?'

You will undertake two exam for both the AS and A2 Levels

Entry Requirements:

For AS Levels, you will need five GCSEpasses at A*-C, including English and maths, as well as one grade B. Other relevant qualifications can be discussed at interview.

If you have grades A and B at GCSE or a strong overall GCSE profile, we'll encourage you to study four AS courses.

To progress from AS to A2 you are expected to gain at least a grade C in the AS subject studied.
