This popular course will appeal to individuals who are creative and like to challenge themselves. It includes contextual research and structured coursework, development of ideas and practical work.

You will study practical work involving traditional and digital methods of photography. This will include learning to use cameras; the black and white darkroom; manipulation; low light and
movement; digital imaging; and studio techniques. The contextual work involves exhibition, and research in primary and secondary resources.

A2 will continue to further your studies to a higher and more in-depth level, with emphasis on independent study and learning.

Assessment consists of two extended units of coursework at AS and again at A2.

Entry Requirements:

For AS Levels you will need five GCSE passes at grades A*-C, including English and maths, as well as one grade B. Other relevant qualifications can be discussed at interview.

If you have grades A and B at GCSE or a strong overall GCSE profile, well encourage you to study four AS courses.

To progress from AS to A2 you are expected to gain at least a grade C in the AS subject studied.
