Please note: It can only be studied at Tonbridge.
You will enjoy this course if you are interested in applying ICT to solve problems and in studying the opportunities for and effects of using ICT in the world today. You will also have opportunities to acquire the skills needed in the IT profession, such as co-operative working and project management, and to develop practical skills.
At AS Level you will build a knowledge and understanding of information systems and produce coursework relating to using ICT hardware and software applications to solve a problem involving three separate tasks.
Both the AS and A2 Levels involve an exam and coursework.
At A2 Level you will study the use and impact of ICT and produce a relational database project.
Entry Requirements:
For AS Levels you will need five GCSE passes at grades A*-C, including English and maths, as well as one grade B. Other relevant qualifications can be discussed at interview.If you have grades A and B at GCSE or a strong overall GCSE profile, well encourage you to study four AS courses.
To progress from AS to A2 you are expected to gain at least a grade C in the AS subject studied.
