The course is aimed at people who intend to move onto higher education to pursue a professional career in the construction industry. The course is based on core and optional units, with
optional units including areas such as structural engineering and surveying.

Core modules include:
Health, safety and welfare in construction and the built environment
Sustainable construction
Mathematics in construction and the built environment
Science and materials in construction and the built environment
Construction technology and design in construction and civil engineering
Building technology in construction
Functional skills in English, maths and ICT are a key part of this course.

Entry Requirements:

You need five GCSEs (grade A*-C), including maths and English, a relevant Level 2 qualification, an Apprenticeship or relevant work experience.

Career Options:

You may progress onto higher education in a related area, such as the HNC in Construction at K College or into the construction and built environment industries.
