Duration : 1 yearThis course introduces you to the construction industry in the form of a practical, work-based programme. You will study:
- Structure of the construction industry
- Exploring health, safety and welfare in construction
- Sustainability in the construction industry
There will also be units in construction technology, drawing and craft. You can also specialise in either a technician pathway, examining the theory in greater depth, or a craft pathway, such as brickwork, carpentry or painting and decorating.
Functional skills of English and maths are a key part of this course.
Entry Requirements:
You need least four GCSEs at average grade D or a BTEC Level 1 at Merit or Distinction. You need to have also an appropriate standard of literacy and numeracy and a successful interview.Career Options:
