This course is a first stepping stone towards a career as an apprentice in working with wood.
You will learn and practise a range of skills in wood occupations.
During the course you will develop skills which will prepare you for entering employment in a construction or a furniture related craft.
Functional skills of English, maths and ICT are a key part of this course.
There will be practical assessments, knowledge tests and exams.

Entry Requirements:

You need to have GCSEs or equivalent at grade D or above including English and maths. There is also a pre-entry assessment. All applicants will be interviewed.

Career Options:

After you have successfully completed this course you can go on to study a Level 2 Diploma, an Apprenticeship or enter employment within a furniture craft area.
