Principal & Chief Executive

Bill has worked in education since 1978 and has experience in the Secondary, Further and Higher education sectors. Bill’s commitments have included 6 years part-time inspection work with the FEFC and a range of external moderator/verifier roles with BTEC and EDEXCEL. Bill was one of the first 10 experienced Principals to recently complete the Centre for Excellence in Leadership (C.E.L) ‘Principals Qualifying Programme’ (see CEL press release and letter from the Minister of State).

Bill was appointed Principal and Chief Executive at West Kent College in 2002, oversaw the successful merger with South Kent College in April 2010 and now leads the merged K College. He has served on a range of county, regional and national bodes including:-

  • The S.E Regional Skills for Productivity Alliance (RSPA);
  • Association of S.E. Colleges (AoSEC) Board member; L.S.C. Regional Skills Working Group;
  • The Windsor Group (Top 10 Train to Gain providers in the S.E.);
  • Dorton College (Royal London Society for the Blind) Board member;
  • Kent Employment & Skills Board;
  • West Kent Learning Federation (20 secondary schools and colleges) Executive Committee;
  • Government Office S.E. (GOSE) 14-19 Strategic Working Group;
  • West Kent Strategic Partnership;
  • West Kent 14-19 Planning Forum;
  • Kent 14-19 Strategy Group
