Caroline Shaw is Chief Executive of Voluntary Action within Kent, a countywide organisation delivering a range of community services to individuals, voluntary organisations and private and public sector organisations.  Caroline has a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources from the University of Calgary, Canada and a Master’s Degree in Training from the Centre for Labour Market Studies at Leicester University.  Caroline has spent most of her career working within the field of human resources and her previous positions include Head of HR at Barnard Marcus and Director of HR at Ince & Co, Solicitors.

Caroline's commitment is to the development of the voluntary and community sector in the South East. She is the Chair and a Trustee of Regional Action and Involvement South East (RAISE) and a member of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) Assembly.

Her leisure interests include photography, travelling and gardening. Caroline is also an animal enthusiast and enjoys walking her dogs and looking after her Shetland ponies.

Caroline joined the Board of West Kent College from July 2005.
