Students from K College gave more than 20 pensioners from Tonbridge a Christmas treat with a 3-course lunch.
The elderly were collected and brought to the View restaurant at the Brook Street campus by the K College minibus ready for lunch at 12 on Friday, December 16.

The meal was cooked by students at Foundation and Level 1, and mentored by Level 2 students from the hospitality and catering departments.
The guests, who were chosen by Tonbridge Age Concern, part of Age UK, enjoyed a buffet lunch – bacon and chestnut soup, smoked salmon, a selection of salads, turkey, cold cuts, sandwiches, followed by mince pie, apple pie and Xmas pudding. They could also buy Yule logs afterwards at reduced rate.

The meal was prepared along the same system as the TV cookery programme Ready Steady Cook, where the students didn’t follow a pre set recipe, but instead had to come up with own plan having been given the ingredients by their tutors.
One lady afterwards told staff: ‘It’s been fantastic, and I really enjoyed myself’.
It’s the first time the K College students have provided a Xmas meal like this for Age Concern.
