K College Tonbridge opened its doors for its second local residents’ event on 11th May when over 40 people packed the boardroom to hear the latest update on the College re-development.

Joined by project partners, Galliford Try and Davis Langdon, the College management team updated local residents on the progress of the re-development due to be completed at the beginning of September this year. The management of construction activities and parking arrangements from now until the end of the project were of particular interest.

Vice Principal, Chris Hare commented; “It was a great opportunity to engage with our local community. Resident feedback provides essential information for the College to ensure local views regarding the campus development or its services are considered.”

Bill Fearon said, “The residents were very complimentary and supportive of the College and have given us great heart to press on and finish the entire new campus for the new academic year in September.”

A guided tour of the campus and a reception at The View Restaurant provided further food for thought for the guests, many remarked how impressed they were, not only with the food, but also the entire development; “I think it’s such a good idea that the building is open to the public and for local community use.”, remarked Jackie Clarke of Molescroft Way; “We’re looking forward to finding out what shows and gigs will be happening in the MAC theatre.”

The College will be organising a grand opening of the completed campus in the next academic year.
