K College Press InformationTonbridge Music Concerts 7-9 December 2010
Tuesday, 07 December 2010 17:01
This week we’ve got three great evenings of music taking place at the Tonbridge campus featuring performances from our fantastic music students. They are taking place 7-9 December in the Media & Arts Centre.
Tuesday 7th December 7.30pm
Level 1 and Level 2 Access to Music End of Term concert. These are our beginner musicians, performing for the second time since starting at the College. There will also be guest appearances by staff bands and degree students' bands, together with songs developed through the Freestyle Project, and a performance by the Open Door Music Group. The Programme will include blues and rock & roll music.
Wednesday 8th December 7.30pm
Level 3A and Level 3B Access to Music End of Term concert. These are musicians approaching a semi-professional level and the October concert produced some excellent and exciting performances from these groups. The Programme will include reggae and classic rock.
Thursday 9th December 7.30pm
Degree students Concert. This show will feature our most advanced musicians, performing Progressive Rock and New Orleans Funk & Soul, and also "Options" where the students form their own bands/acts for particular Modules and perform music of their own choice, plus own compositions. These will include ambient music, a girl grunge band, a grime/punk Band and many other exciting projects. One of our acts, Bareface, is receiving considerable media attention currently. Also featuring in this show are winners of the Level 1 and Level 2 Best Band Competition, plus staff performances.
There will be a bar open for all events. We are hoping that each band will perform up to three songs. Julie Parker, Programme Leader for Music, said: “We were delighted with our first show in October, which was a brilliant night, and I hope these shows will give parents, relatives and friends more time to see our future stars in action.”
Tickets are available on the door and everyone is welcome. They cost £5 for adults and £3 for concessions. The concerts take place in the Media & Arts Centre of the Tonbridge campus.
See you there!
